I’m not sure which side of the continuum I’m on at the moment, but when I get back to The Edge I’ll let you know.

sc morgan grew up in Oregon, where she learned not everything is black and white. Now she lives in the jungles of Costa Rica where shades of gray cover the full spectrum. She writes because she can't help herself. Sometimes she gets published.
And how about this moment, part of chaos, that TS Eliot famously wrote about:
At the still point of the turning world. Neither flesh nor fleshless;
Neither from nor towards; at the still point, there the dance is,
But neither arrest nor movement. And do not call it fixity,
Where past and future are gathered. Neither movement from nor towards,
Neither ascent nor decline. Except for the point, the still point,
There would be no dance, and there is only the dance.
Is it that brief moment, before there are moments, before the Big Bang?
For me ... Chaos is the produce aisle while the Old Age Pensioners pick through it. Wibbly-wobblies with wriggling fingers, poking, prodding and turning.
All I want is an aubergine!
Oh, and my mind gets kinda chaotic at 10.36am, my time.

Interesting, Sarah. Chaos is such a loaded word. Controlled chaos sounds good. I suspect chaos is another one of those relative concepts . . . what would be the "edge of chaos" might be chaos for someone else.
What a fascinating site re Victor MacGill. When I have more time I must read his Sleeping Beauty fairytale analysis."And then I just lost it!" works in well with his theories doesn't it...the thing that tips you over the edge. I can relate to the traffic jam concepts too!
It is an interesting site, Pam. I have not read the interpretation of Sleeping Beauty either, but will do that one of these days when things calm down, or I get accustomed to the chatter of my days right now.
Ruth and Ross-- It is subjective and, as Ross, points out, it can easily be the aged pawing through the arugula.
I seem to be flopping back and forth between chaos and order--translate that as bored or franticly occupied-- and have bypassed the flyspeck area called creativity, or the edge. This too shall pass.
I loved the TS Eliot. Thank you for that poem, Ross. Beautiful.
